Dear Friends, I would like to request your assistance to help us make a difference. Beginning in early 2010, The 800 Mile Wall will tour key regions across the country raising awareness about the plight of migrants crossing our deserts and mountains. The film will bring the harsh reality of the border to tens of thousands of Americans and help motivate us all to reclaim dignity and fundamental human rights for immigrants. The 800 Mile Wall will be screened with the support of the National Immigration Forum, (the leading immigrant advocacy organization in the country), Reform Immigration for America, The ACLU, The American Friends Service Committee, CHIRLA and others. (see all the organizations). “I am writing on behalf of the Reform Immigration FOR America Campaign in support of the Gatekeeper Foundation and the film entitled, “The 800 Mile Wall”. I believe that this film will serve as a critical educational and motivational tool to engage Americans in local communities across the United States in the effort to reform our nation’s broken immigration system.” Reform Immigration for America – Capaign Manager - Rich Stolz Read the letter This is the most important and ambitious project we have participated in to date. It has the potential to affect millions of lives. The 800 Mile Wall will touch audiences in ways that news reports never will. We will hold discussions and provide resources to empower audience members to take life-saving action. We will also challenge audience members to hold home screenings of The 800 Mile Wall which will broaden knowledge and support for change (see Home Screening Kit). We cannot accomplish our goals without your assistance. Your contribution will assure that the urgent message of The 800 Mile Wall reaches as many people as possible. The Gatekeeper Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established to create documentary films addressing and promoting human and civil rights along with social and economic justice, focusing in particular on issues of fair and just treatment of immigrants. Your contribution is tax-deductible. Since the film was released several weeks ago, it has already grabbed headlines and empowered people to take action (recent news). We have just completed our screening for members of congress in Washington, DC and would like to continue our forward momentum. If you would like more information about the film, the tour, or the Gatekeeper Foundation, please let us know. See screening locations We believe that knowledge is empowerment and empowerment transforms lives. |
